UTIMATE 4x4 UTV TOUR: A thrilling 2-hour off-road adventure through pasture lands, across lava a flow, through the Native Hawaiian Ohia Forest including the rare Loulu Palms (one of the rarest palm species in the world!), a the 250-year-old Sugi Pine grove and by Hawaii Island’s largest reservoirs! Native birds and butterflies are everywhere as you explore one of the most ecologically unique forests in the world. We will take a quick forest immersion to stop and listen to the life of the land…the bird songs are amazing.

‍Join us for a 2 hour, true off-road 4x4 UTV experience through the hidden wonders of HOʻOMAU RANCH in beautiful South Kona, Hawai‘i Island. This guided 4x4 UTV tour takes you on hidden forest trails, up and down the exciting terrain, weaving between huge trees and deep into rare native forest restoration zones. This is a real ride in the woods!

Highlights include rare Loulu Palms Pritchardia schattaueri, a 250-year-old Sugi Pine forest, ʻŌhiʻa dominated native woodlands, and two impressive reservoirs — a 90,000-gallon pond and a 3,000,000-gallon lake, proudly one of the largest reservoirs on Hawai‘i Island. As you zoom along the forest floor through the giant trees you may spot native songbirds and butterflies while you experience a truly special Hawaiʻian forest. Hawaiʻi is the most geographically isolated land mass in the world!

UTV drivers and guests, horseback riders and hikers must follow guides' instructions at all times, remain on designated trails and maintain full control of the vehicles, horses and hikers. Phone use while on the tour is strictly prohibited until at a complete stop and all vehicles are turned off and horses are secured.

Martin Forest Conservation Hike

$199 per person + tax and fees.

Martin Forest: You are invited to join us in a secluded 3 hour 3.5 mile perimeter hike inside the conservation fence protecting the 235 acre Martin Forest. You will walk on the conservation rough road hiking up and down the ancient lava flows while getting up close and personal with some of the Tree Giants living here. Get to peek into this extremely rare living forest while not disturbing forest health and protected areas. Experience the long lost patterns of life created as Hawai‘i evolved half a million years ago. Step back into time with us! Enjoy the fullness of a living forest and participate in its conservation, preservation and restoration as 5% of the gross fees are donated to HOʻOMAU RANCH CONSERVANCY! Thank you. Hike level moderate: Loop trail 3.5 mi, 3 hour rough conservation road, mid level incline, 2 rest stops, hiking poles provided, partial and full sun hike.

Loulu Enclosure

$179 per person + tax and fees.

Loulu Forest Conservation Hike. You are invited to join us in a secluded 1.5 hour 1.5 mile hike inside the protective perimeter fence protecting the 65 acre Loulu Enclosure. As you walk along the rough conservation road you will get to see several mature palms considered to be one the rarest tree species in the world! HOʻOMAU RANCH hosts 10 of the 12 known existing “Mothers” (as we like to call them) of the species. Enjoy the fullness of a living forest and participate in its conservation, preservation and restoration as 5% of the gross fees are donated to HOʻOMAU RANCH CONSERVANCY! Thank you. Hike level moderate: Loop trail 1.5 miles and 1.5 hours, rough road, mid level inclines, 1 rest stop, hiking poles provided, partial and full sun hike.
